形态特征(Description):灌木或小乔木,高达4米。嫩枝有短柔毛。叶有小叶17-31片,小叶斜卵形或斜卵状披针形,生于叶轴最下部的通常阔卵形且较细小,长2-5厘米,宽5-20毫米,基部钝或圆,一侧偏斜,两侧甚不对称,叶轴及小叶两面中脉均被短柔毛,很少仅在中脉下半部有稀疏短毛,全缘或叶缘有细钝裂齿,油点干后变黑色。近于平顶的伞房状聚伞花序,通常顶生,花甚多;花蕾椭圆形;花序轴及花梗均被短柔毛;萼裂片卵形,长不及1毫米;花瓣5片,倒披针形或长圆形,白色,长5-7毫米,有油点;雄蕊10枚,长的约与花瓣等长,另5枚短的约与花柱同高;花柱比子房长约1倍。柱头头状。嫩果长卵形,长约为宽的1倍,成熟时长椭圆形,或间有圆球形,长1-1.5厘米,蓝黑色,有种子1-2粒;种皮薄膜质。花期3-4月,果期7-8月。
分布(Distribution):产海南、云南,较常见于海拔500-1600米较湿润的阔叶林中,河谷沿岸也有生长。越南、老挝、缅甸、印度等也有。
用途(Use):鲜叶有芳香气味,印度、斯里兰卡居民用其叶作咖喱调料。

Shrubs or trees, to 4 m tall. Leaves 17-31-foliolate; leaflet blades ovate, 2-5 × 0.5-2 cm, base obtuse to rounded and oblique, margin entire or crenulate. Inflorescences terminal, paniculate, many flowered. Flowers 5-merous, ellipsoid in bud. Sepals ovate, less than 1 mm. Petals white, oblanceolate to oblong, 5-7 mm. Stamens 10. Stigma capitate. Fruit bluish black, ovoid to oblong, 1-1.5 cm, 1- or 2-seeded. Seed coat membranous. Fl. Mar-Apr, fr. Jul-Aug.
