形态特征（Description）：灌木，高1-2-(3)米，小枝，叶下面，叶柄及花序柄均被具长柄，短柄或无柄稍不等长5-9分枝的尘土色星状毛。小枝疏具基部宽扁的皮刺，皮刺淡黄色，基部疏被星状毛，长2.5-10毫米，宽2-10毫米，尖端略弯曲。叶单生或双生，卵形至椭圆形，长6-12-(19)厘米，宽4-9-(13)厘米，先端尖，基部心脏形或楔形，两边不相等，边缘半裂或作波状，裂片通常5-7，上面绿色，毛被较下面薄，分枝少(5-7)的无柄的星状毛较多，分枝多的有柄的星状毛较少，下面灰绿，密被分枝多而具柄的星状毛；中脉在下面少刺或无刺，侧脉每边3-5条，有刺或无刺。叶柄长约2-4厘米，具1-2枚皮刺或不具。伞房花序腋外生，2-3歧，毛被厚，总花梗长1-1.5厘米，具1细直刺或无，花梗长约5-10毫米，被腺毛及星状毛；花白色；萼杯状，长约4毫米，外面被星状毛及腺毛，端5裂，裂片卵状长圆形，长约2毫米，先端骤尖；花冠辐形，直径约1.5厘米，筒部隐于萼内，长约1.5毫米，冠檐长约1.5厘米，端5裂，裂片卵状披针形，先端渐尖，长0.8-1厘米，外面被星状毛；花丝长约1毫米，花药长了毫米，为花丝长度的4-7倍，顶孔向上；子房卵形，光滑，不孕花的花柱短于花药，能孕花的花柱较长于花药；柱头截形；浆果黄色，光滑无毛，圆球形，直径约1-1.5厘米，宿萼外面被稀疏的星状毛，果柄长约1.5厘米，上部膨大；种子盘状，直径约1.5-2毫米。全年均开花结果。
分布（Distribution）：产云南、广西、广东、台湾，生于海拔200-1650米热带地方的路旁，荒地，灌木丛中，沟谷及村庄附近等潮湿地方。广布于示南亚及热带美洲。
用途（Use）：果实可明目，叶可治疮毒，嫩果煮熟可供蔬食。

Shrubs 1-2(-3) m tall, sparingly armed, densely pubescent overall with many-rayed, grayish stellate hairs. Stems with stout, recurved, reddish or pale-yellow prickles 2.5-10 × 2-10 mm and sometimes bearing basal stellate hairs. Leaves solitary or paired; petiole 2-4 cm; leaf blade ovate to elliptic, 6-16(-19) × 4-11(-13) cm, with yellow, many-branched stellate hairs, armed or unarmed, base cordate or cuneate, margin sinuate or usually 5-7-lobed, apex acute. Inflorescences extra-axillary, many-flowered racemose panicles; peduncle mostly 1- or 2-branched, 1-1.8 cm, stellate pubescent. Flowers andromonoecious. Pedicel dark, slender, 5-12 mm, bearing simple glandular hairs and stalked stellate hairs. Calyx cup-shaped, 4-5 mm, pubescence as on pedicel; lobes ovate-lanceolate, 2-3 mm. Corolla white, rotate, 1-1.3 × 1-1.5 cm; lobes ovate-lanceolate, 8-10 mm, stellate pubescent abaxially. Filaments ca. 1 mm; anthers 4-7 mm. Style 6-8 mm.
